DUMPSTER!!!

ok i know all of you with kids are thinking is she really posting another thing about a dog??? is she one of those people who is going to send us a christmas card of her dog?? no...i'll be in the picture too!! haha j/k!! anyway yeah well i go to school and clinicals all day...that's not exciting and i don't have any kids to talk about and i am told that i have to update more than once every other month so... you get to hear about the dogs. Daylon sold the hearse last week (thank heavens) i'm sure if he had parked it in the driveway all of our senior citizen neighbors would have flipped thinking that we were coming for them or something. anyway he sold the cable killer hearse and bought a new dog with some of the money from it. he is sooo cool and we named him Dumpster because its just a cool bulldog name!

Like Kids in a Candy Store!!

So a while back I rented one of dad's houses to a man named Mark Deros and his family. It turns out he is an inventor and invents things for the military like tripods and other things I think he said that he has 19 inventions. Anyway he's a really nice guy and Daylon really likes him. A couple weeks ago Mark let Daylon borrow his .50 caliber rifle. Its huge and sooo heavy and I guess it can shoot a target up to 2 miles or something and the bullet can travel up to 5 miles!! I might have that wrong but I think that's what he said...(Daylon's at the cabin with his old man this weekend or I would get some verification) anyway big gun you get the point. So we got to pick it up and Daylon's eyes just light up like its Christmas morning or something and he couldn't stop smiling all night. A couple days later, I'm sure it killed him to wait that long, he and his friend Logan went out to Post and had the opportunity to shoot it. They couldn't hit anything far away because it is sighted in for a very long distance and they weren't shooting that far but they had a blast and he said it was soo sweet. He said he wanted to shoot a hog with it just to see what would happen but didn't have any luck. They did get one with Logan's smaller gun though. Anyway they had fun and they look pretty cool holding it even if they are dorks....I guess Mark is right...it has the CDI (chicks dig it) factor!!Daylon posing

Rush Car Show

This past Saturday Daylon and Ella took their mustangs to the Rush Car Show here in town. They only decided that morning that they were going to take them to the show so they didn't have a lot of time to get them all polished up but they were still the best looking cars there. Ella, Tera, Troy, Abby and Daylon and I spent most of the morning walking around and looking at cars and finding games for Troy to play. It was hot and took most of the day before the judges had made their decisions but it was something different to do on a Saturday I guessDaylon and Abby after she had passed out

Fun at the Fair

So every year we go to the South Plains Fair one afternoon. Mainly for the food but sometimes we play games, ride some rides and walk through the exhibits. They were so kind to give us the afternoon of clinicals off at school so our whole class went to the fair. Somehow I didn't see them for long but it was ok because Mom and Dad, Tish and her kids and Tysen and Danette an thier kids came so we got to hang out with them a little bit as well. We ate too much and it was sooo hot that afternoon for some reason. Maybe I am just not used to being outside that time of day since I am usually trapped in a classroom or a hospital that time of day!! Anyway it was lots of fun and I was glad we got to go. Autopsy...creepy!

Ok so Thursday I had the opportunity to see a live autopsy. And by opportunity I mean the directors of the school told us thats what we were doing that day so that is what we did. For those of you who think....cool just like CSI...um yeah not so much. I hadn't even been to a funeral since I was like 6 years old and although my husband owns a hearse...wierdo I know...I am completely freaked out by death. Immediately afterwards I was sick...swore I was never going to eat again and under no circumstances wanted to be alone with my thoughts. I just wanted to forget what I had just seen. It was traumatic for me but now as I think back I don't think many people get to say they have seen a live autopsy. Its pretty neat I guess. Definately not something I will ever forget.

Beginning of the LONG road to RT

Ok so it is official my summer is OVER...booo!! I started Covenant School of Radiology on Monday. I am really excited and really bummed at the same time because 1. I no longer get to sleep in until 9....yeah I know all of ya'll with kids hate me 2. I can no longer go swimming and lay out in the middle of the day and 3. I know progression on the remodeling is going to come to a screaming halt because since I have been pretty much a bum all summer I have gotten to learn all about being a construction girl while Daylon got work to pay for my remodeling endeavors. I have scraped ceilings, textured, tiled, put up crown molding, glazed cabinets, and painted. And even though I have done all of that the house lacks sooo much! I'll post pics once it is done. So you can expect those in about 2 years right before we move out and start on another dump!! haha. Yeah but I am excited about school. It is kind of depressing to know that for the next 2 years I am going to have to wear the worst color of 80's green scrubs. Those of you have seen them know exactly what I am talking about!! I mean its pretty bad when a 6 year old asks..."why are you wearing that?"...."because i have to for school"...."yeah but why?" Also Daylon took the test for the Lubbock Police on Saturday and passed both parts and I am very proud of him. He will find out some time before January if he gets into the Academy. And that is the latest news from the Glover household.

So.... Daylon had NEVER seen a waterfall! How does that happen to people...oh wait you are born and live in Texas...thats how. Anyway I've been telling him for a long time that I was going to take him to see a waterfall and was determined to this last trip to Colorado. So on the way home to Texas from Del Norte.....we stopped by Zapata Falls. And it is NOT on the way it was like 2 hours out of the way but well worth it. The Falls were frozen but still beautiful.

I would just like to say that I am going to SMOKE all of you in this weight loss challenge and I would also like to say nice job getting this going at the END of the summer Naticia. I mean c'mon summer is over and Now we are going to start a weight loss challenge. I mean this summer has been so depressing I have barely swam for fear I may catch a glimpse of myself in the reflection of the water and be damaged for life. HAHA!! Anyway you all are LOSERS!!
